Default 3 mobile broadband cannot connect after uninstalling norton

Could anyone help? I already phoned the technical dept of 3 and had tried all their instructions like resetting the defaults, install and uninstall modem, etc.to have it work but to no avail. After uninstalling my norton antivirus due to expired subscription, AVG antivirus was put in place but then was also uninstalled because cant get connection. I presume microsoft ?antivirus won't block my attempts to connect to the internet as it is not known for it unlike norton.
