Value of google accreditation

I tinker with running the [<font color="#666666">Commercial URL removed</font>] website. I act as a helper between the business, which is web-ignorant, and its web hosts. They sometimes call the business and offer services for chunky sums of money and I sometimes stop the business wasting money. The latest suggestion is for £50 to make the site "google accredited" so presumably a search takes people eadily to the site. So far as I can see basic related searching and the site metadata are OK - would this add real value andf can I do something similar for them without the £50 being spent? Grateful for your advice, as ever.

You may be better off posing the question on a 'professional' webmaster forum, this isn't really a commercial domain type forum, more personal where such things are an irrelevance.

Fair enough, can you recommend one or two? I'm pretty amateur myself - and have found this forum very helpful for more ordinary questions before.
