Questions about IE

I was wondering what questions Internet Explorer forum members would ask Microsoft about its web browser, if they had the chance? These can be technical or as broad as you like.

My question:

There seems to have been quite a gap between the final version being available for download and the date at which update will ask you if you want to upgrade - why was that?
