Default Download from Nokia 6500 to Walagata

Good morning folks. This 'video' is a new venture for me. I recorded the morning birdsong on my new mobile phone and have a file thereon which I have located and transferred to 'My Documents' (Windows XP) but therafter I'm having difficulties. I get the picture shown below.

The ultimate aim is to get a URL via Walagata, for inclusion in my blog.

That picture is so small I can't read the message properly but I think it's referring to a file with an extension .jgp Did you not mean .jpg? If you did, that isn't a video file, it's a picture.

Thanks Greysts. Sorry the picture was so small, I wanted to be sure and not breach the forum rules.

I'll have another go at it during the day. I know I have recorded a file with the birdsong on it because I can play it on the phone itself.

Graham

If you have successfully transferred the video from your Nokia to your PC, it should be in a .mp4 format.

Good afternoon Steve, - I knew the file was there, because I could 'play' it on the phone itself. When I arrived home this aft. I decided to try the exercise on my old Fujitsu laptop. Result - no problem at all. Rather than a tiny picture (like the one Greysts had difficulty seeing) here is a link to my screen print - http://file.walagata.com/w/radiogand...deo_screen.JPG . I don't know if it is an MP3/4 file or not - but it plays and I've now got a URL for it.

My Asus Eee, whilst cute, leaves a lot to be desired. If I was modern I would say I have got 'issues' with it.

Thanks a lot, and thanks Greysts too.

Pleased you got sorted.

Just as a matter of interest, you could try, if you still have it, that program called 'Everything' to locate it for you.
Type in .mp4 and it will bring up all your .mp4 files on your system.

Steve. There are several, often with the suffix .bmp - does that stand for bitmap? Whatever - having found them I can't open them but it is interesting that they are there. If indeed they are the right files ? I download lots of BBC podcasts and 'listen agains' and I suspect that they are MP3 or MP4.

Anyway. The job is done. Thanks again. cheers Graham

A .bmp file is indeed a bitmap file. That is simply another type of picture file which you can open with any good picture editor like Irfanview.

Thanks Greysts. I guessed it would be. No doubt you read the rest of my reply to Fusion and my reservations about my Asus Eee. It's OK but I wouldn't recommend one to anyone. cheers Graham
