Try this

Open Internet Explorer

Click Tools | Internet options

Click the Advanced tab.

In the Browsing Section uncheck Show friendly HTTP error messages.

Click OK.

Restart Internet Explorer

Tried that...there were no `boxes` in that window...just two callup addresses Microsoft blah blah etc and UK2.net. Went on the rampage through all the stuff I dont understand, clicking here there and everywhere trying to find something that dealt with `Files...etc" of any description...eventually said Sod it and gave Internet Explorer one last try and suddenly everything worked perfectly, Internet, Broadband, etc. Revolutionary new way of dealing with Computers that wont work...KICK THE GODDAM THING!! Seriously, thanks for your attempts to guide the unwitting,..I wonder why they dont make computers especially tailored to one`s own personal requirements instead of every Box trying to do everything for everyone all in one cabinet. And then the expert `Unravellers` of ones troubles charge an eyewatering sum for what is obviously a simple fix Thanks again for you interest and moral support. Signing off
