Cnet Download.com Newsletter unsubscribe issue

Be aware of the CNET/Download.com site and their Newsletter unsubscribe method which quite frankly is confusing!! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]
In one sentence

I opened the "Personal link" to open my Member account(To close the subscription) and was Taken to the "Sign up page" if I did not know My details [img]/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]
So if I did not Know that it remains open! [img]/forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif[/img]

Its little things like this that are sending People in droves to Places like Filehippo
Nearly all the old school Program download sites have Dropped away either ticking over or disappeared Completely.
Remember one site Was it called FrankCentral? on the WIN 95/98 Wave think that was a 1 man site originally, that competed against Download.com and another Big Site whose name I forget (prompt please?) [img]/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]

Managed to get through to the account page and If you get this far check that every check box is unticked, because is a Potential Bomb ready to go off All its concerned with is Ads Newsletters and "Offers from our Partners" (I'm estimating I saw 12 to 16 tick boxes!! Nothing for personal details(or complete unsubscribe [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] ) Unless you alter your Email to something strange and/or Change from Text to HTML notifications((ALWAYS CHOOSE TEXT if its a strange site) As HTML and <font color="red">Live </font> URL links can hide Trouble [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]
