Default is this possible to do ?

i am not sure if this is possible or maybe this may sound silly but as we almost all have windows and user account. Lets say i gererally have 15 programs that start up with windows. Is there a way i could create a different user account that will start only the programs i need ? so that if i need to access other programs i will switch users...

is this possible ?

thank you

You can create user accounts via the control panel. You may then add or remove programmes from the start-up folder. When Windows gets to the welcome screen, you will be able to select which user account you want to use.

OK. Click Start, and then go to the Control Panel. Select "User Accounts", and in the Task menu select "Create a New Account". Give the account a name and click next. You then have the choice of account type. An administrator has full control of the machine, and a limited user cannot make crucial amendments to the machine. Assuming that you are already the administrator of your machine? There is no particular reason to create other administrator accounts (As you can change the settings of any account using yours). Once your accounts are created you can choose what programs start with each user. Go to "My Computer" select your C Drive, Select Documents and Settings Folder. Select the folder of the user account you want to amend, and go to the start up folder. There you are able to choose the programs you want. Once this is done, you will be able to select which account you want to use at the windows start-up screen. You can also switch accounts by clicking start, and selecting the Log Off option. You can then log any other account on.

Hope this helps?

just had a quick look..like you said.in the docs and setting/select the user and goto startup...but there, there are only shortcuts to just a couple of programs...how about the full programs will they still load in both users ?

Yes. The shortcuts are to which programs load at start-up for each account. Just add and remove programs as you want.
