Default Java/ByteVerify

I have a virus, detected by the AVG free version. There are three entries. The details are:
Object: C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Java\Deployment...
Status: Infected, imbedded Object.
The last 'Status' entry says "moved to Vault/Archive"
...which I did when I frist ran the System Scan.
I have tried to restore my PC to an earlier point, it says this has been unsuccessful.
My OS is Windows ME.
I hope to hell that I don't spread this by posting here, but I can't remove this, and I assume that the WebUser people have better anti-virus stuff than I do.
Thank you in advance for any help.

To clear it :-

1. From the Start button, click Settings> Control Panel
2. In the Control Panel, open the "Java Plug-in Control Panel"
3. Select the Cache Tab
4. Click the Clear button inside the Cache Tab, which will clear your JRE cache directory
