Paul

I entered a signature (normal text) but it appeared in the main body of the reply, not below the line so I had to remove it.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you.

Hello Burrwalnut,

Thats what I did but I think I clicked the "Markup button" on the right before entering the text. No idea what it does but it worked ok for me.

Joe

I've tried your suggestion and it appears to work, thanks.

A signature is a line that is associated with you. For instance, I use the line you see below the horizontal rule, which happens to be an Ozzy Osbourne Quote.

You can use your website address, a quotation and you can use markup, but it does use some of your character space

Your Bio is a short (250 characters isn't a lot) biographical description, should you so desire.

Thanks 'Putasolution', I'm on track now. I'll have to put my thinking cap on, if I can find it!

One thing I've noticed is that square brackets have to be used not the more usual less than and greater than symbols.

Yes, it appears that the board is based on what is known as UB code. It was originally designed for those who didn't have a great deal of HTML knowledge.

The beauty and the by product is that if you learn UB code and you will have learnt a bit of HTML. The vasst majority of messageboards around the net are based on similar code
