Search Engine/s
      #432163 - Wed Jun 10 2009 01:26 AM

I Know the Majority of us will not swap over the Default Search Home page in Google But As I have mentioned on another Topic the Search bar can be configured to Bring up results from other seach engines then displayed on its page
I have just added www.bing.com to my List and I spotted something which needs immediate attention before it comes into play.
Its a possible Bug? Have NO Workaround for it

On my "Other Search engine" list there were 3 "Search" engines in Place uninvited (No prompts!)
They were Wolfram Alpha , File Hippo ! Also something called Fontscape!!
The add/delete item buttons are easy to work out .So, No Harm Done Here... But I would advise you all check this area for Uninvited guests and evict them
Open Chrome click on the Spanner icon on the far right.
Click Options
It will open on the Basics Tab
All the Info bar 1 item is here
Work your way through the First 2 sections to Fix your Chrome Homepage in place (If you have not done so previously)
Disregard the "Show Homepage" tick box as you'll end up back there naturally with practice
Next skip the Default search box Shall come back to that in a moment
the Last box Default Browser Clicking the Button commits Chrome to appear instead of Internet Explorer Question: Do You want That?
I've dragged and dropped the Chrome link from the Start list into the Top left corner adjacent to Internet Explorer, and this arrangement Is far easier to work with Only other Items here are My AOL Logon Link and My Broadband Connection logon link which I rarely touch. Ditto AOL (I bypass that these days since a broadband connection upgrade)
Click the "Close" Button to save your choice

Now,the Default search box ...Are you happy with the Choice of search engine in the box? It is a Drop down Menu box With many of the Popular search engines Listed
However here is the Con click the Manage button New window opens Straight forward layout The Default list of search engines are in the Top section and there are More listed below here.In a separate section
Firstly in the Bottom section... this is where you'll find the Unwanted "guests" these can be deleted without Penalty
Now Here is the 2nd problem If I add any other search engine be it on any list lower or Upper it will be displayed on the Lower list regardless
Item #3 The Lower list:"Other Search Engines" cannot be Used to supplement the Upper List Or used as a search keyword Help ...In other words its totally inert ! Anyone got any Ideas on this?

I've got 'bing' on my Hotmail page, but I haven't used it yet. I assume that M$ or MSN put it there because I didn't. I know search engines seem to fascinate you Mike, but I find it a lot simpler just to use Google, Yahoo! or maybe Live Search!
