Error768/769
      #417850 - Fri Dec 26 2008 08:42 PM

Just been given a Toshiba T9100 Laptop that has a couple of problems (sadly there are no disks provided) its ruuning XP Pro
No 1 problem unable to connect to the Net otherwise its running normal, My wireless connection is reported as Ecellent but getting error 768/769 (Google reports its a Bios set up problem) when trying to open IE7 or any URLs I understood.
Having no expierence with the major hardware and know its a dangerous place to Edit and in any case with no disks I am unable to try. In would appreciate some help as to if its something I could remidy with some help from the Team
The other problem is I have no audio have checked device manager but no yellow markers and all drivers are reported as all drivers are working u7nder sounds. I am not to bothered about Audio but would be nice to get it Fixed.
I do how ever have a genuine Windows XP Home disk and seem to remenber that the forum does sometimes say it s possible for some remidysto use one.
Cheers

This error is a Network Connection software message relating to XP SP2
And I did note you say you have upgraded to SP3 (which has its own Issues)

MS Have a page about this known issue (and how to resolve it)
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892889

You may receive Error 678 or Error 769 when you try to connect to the Internet or when you try to browse the Internet after you install Windows XP Service Pack 2

I personally have had no Probs with SP2 But SP3 does Not like AMD Processors(on going issue) Generating error messages, or doing endless resets in 1 reported case
