Virgin Media deals
      #415848 - Tue Dec 09 2008 12:26 PM

I noticed this deal, amongst others, currently advertised on Virgin Media's web site:

-->> £10.00 a month for the first 6 months - £20 a month after that <<--

I was rather upset at this offer as I was paying a hell of a lot more for the same service as a loyal customer.

I phoned the number shown under 'Got questions' and spoke to an adviser and complained rigorously about this offer and wanted to take advantage of it. I was told I couldn't as I wasn't a new customer.
I told him if Virgin Media didn't have the monopoly on cable in my area and in fact the UK, I would give my notice to leave them.
He quickly told me that Virgin Media were working on a revised package for existing customers to match the offer(s) in the link I have shown, but I won't hold my breath.

I urge everyone who has Virgin Media and is paying higher rates than those on offer to complain to try make a difference.

Just made the phone call. I currently have Broadband M (10mb) and TV XL. That costs me £38.50 a month at present. If I take the phone (M) which is free weekend calls they'll actually reduce my total bill by 50p a month for all three services!! As I'm currently paying BT about £20 a month for the telephone and I get to keep the same number with Virgin I think the time has come to swap. He also told me I can have the V+ box for a one-off payment of £75 and no extra rental. Thanks for the nudge.

Well I'm with Virgin media and was going to leave to go back to Sky.
I called and cancelled with my months notice and after a few days I got a call offering a good package.. I pushed extremely hard and got a great deal for another 12 month contract and they hit sky's best deal out of the park.

The moral is that whichever company you get your services from.. push, push, push, and remember the customer is always right!
