Google Desktop updated to Version 3
      #260050 - Thu Feb 09 2006 05:40 PM

Google Desktop has been updated to version 3
No detail on the contents or can it overwrite the original versions?

Edit Version 3 (Beta) is 1.55MB. Version 2 is 1.4 MB Downloads for the older versions are still available at www.filehippo.com
Though I did note these interesting remarks
Quote:

Google said it is turning "Sidebar," a system introduced six months ago for viewing live updates of personal information, into a way to share quick notes, news, photos or other tidbits of data with friends or colleagues.

"This is starting to amount to a new operating system, though Google would never describe it as such," Gartner Inc. analyst Allen Weiner said

Does install over old version (no issues) Only changes I saw are a Lock search option and the photo viewer has a alternative scan method added. And you can undock any section from the sidebar and reassemble the sidebar in any order by dragging and dropping the sections either in Situ or from the separated sectins;)
