i am not sure if this is possible or maybe this may sound silly but as we almost all have windows and user account. Lets say i gererally have 15 programs that start up with windows. Is there a way i could create a different user account that will start only the programs i need ? so that if i need to access other programs i will switch users...
is this possible ?
thank you

You can create user accounts via the control panel. You may then add or remove programmes from the start-up folder. When Windows gets to the welcome screen, you will be able to select which user account you want to use.

OK. Click Start, and then go to the Control Panel. Select "User Accounts", and in the Task menu select "Create a New Account". Give the account a name and click next. You then have the choice of account type. An administrator has full control of the machine, and a limited user cannot make crucial amendments to the machine. Assuming that you are already the administrator of your machine? There is no particular reason to create other administrator accounts (As you can change the settings of any account using yours). Once your accounts are created you can choose what programs start with each user. Go to "My Computer" select your C Drive, Select Documents and Settings Folder. Select the folder of the user account you want to amend, and go to the start up folder. There you are able to choose the programs you want. Once this is done, you will be able to select which account you want to use at the windows start-up screen. You can also switch accounts by clicking start, and selecting the Log Off option. You can then log any other account on.
Hope this helps?

Yes. The shortcuts are to which programs load at start-up for each account. Just add and remove programs as you want.

Programs should be installed as you normally would. If you add a shortcut to the start up folder. Then a program will start with the account you add it to.

No. Once the program is installed on your machine, you can just add a shortcut to the start-up folder for the account you want that program to start up with.

i think i have given up. Moreover i feel that what i expected of "creating different user accounts " is not what it actually does. I wiped clean my laptop. Once all clear, i created 2 administrator account. A & B. In account A i installed about 15 programs. Didnt check on the B account yet. Once finished installing progs in account A i checked the shart menu (in docs & setting of that A account) but just found 3 shortcuts of all the 15 programs i installed. So where are all the others gone ?
Then checked user account B, just the same, just those 3 shortcuts are there where as i had installed 15 progs. In account B i deleted/uninstalled some programs which i did not want in user account B, but they got deleted in user account A as well. I just dont know what i am doing ? Lets say i have 15 progs that start when windows start, dont all 15 should shos in the start menu in docs and setting in the user account ?
moreover, besides user account A & B, i also have an account called "All users"...
