Is the new Virgin Media 50Mbps service available where you are?
Would you sign up to it?

Can't get it yet in sunny Dorset, but already on the 10M service and it is fine. The changeover (ugrade from 2) was so quick and online checkers show we get anything between 9.5 and 10.5.
The truth is, I haven't really 'used' the extra speed. I do download the odd demo and it is noticeably quicker (although it can depend on the 'sender') but I think anything higher would be wasted on me.

I often use screen sharing software in my business, such as Crossloop, to demonstrate the product, or provide support for customers.
This would work a lot better on a faster connection.
I would sign up to it when you could stream high definition TV through the Internet.
Not sure if you could do this even at 50Mb/s?

Nope and I don't think I could justify the price tag!

Not available in South Devon yet, even if it was, I would'nt pay £51 a month for it.

My Virgin 10mb is fast enough for me thanks, particularly at the price.
I suppose though, if it is a business expense for business use, with enormous files to download/upload it would be worth it. .

I am one of 200 people in the Huddersfield area to be offered this service for no extra for at least two months with the free new modem. If after the time I do not want to pay the extra for it, I go back to 20 and keep the modem.
All starts in January! Can't wait to try it.

I cannot get it here in the wilderness of Leeds, well Leeds postcode. I would love a faster connection but the chances of either cable been installed in the area or BT putting in fibre optic cables in this area are about the same as me winning the lottery jackpot when only choosing 5 numbers, it just isn't going to happen.

Would I sign up? £51 a month? Not unless I had significantly more spare cash than I do.
