Webuser Forums: Digi Camera curiosity

Family returned from hiking in the Tetons and Yellowstone Park. I am to make slides using 128mb of pics from his Sony Digi camera, after taking advice I could download from the port used by my own Fuji Finepix I connected his up.

New Hardware was recognised but nothing happened so I opened up the Camera/Scanner Wizard. After a Next to continue I was presented with a list of camera makes to choose from with the exception of a Sony.

After hesitating somewhat, I chose one at random, an Agfa something, onward the Wizard went. Clicked finished and sat with fingers crossed, sure enough it worked and the pics were downloaded. Sigh of relief as his computer does not have a writer to put them on CD and I did not want to face scanning this lot.

Once more I'm curious, why let me fool the system choosing Agfa because Sony was not mentioned?
