      #98761 - Sun Aug 15 2004 06:51 PM

http://www.xxxxxx.co.uk/yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I keep getting "Page cannot be found" page. I have had this for over 3 weeks now. I can access all other websites okay.

Any help would be great. Thanks,

Steven.

Unfortunately Schumi can only delete his/her post within 1 hour of posting, or the moderators can do it if it's deemed untasteful.

I can delete my reply (within 1 hour of posting this) which gave the correct link he/she was after, but that would leave your reply, replying to something that's not there, if you know what I mean.

Whilst I/we all appreciate that kids will be viewing this forum, they also will be able to access Google, which is a mine field of information either wanted or not, by that I mean they can access the links your concerned with and "worse" should they want to, so if the moderators wish to delete this thread, they may with my blessing if they judge it to be harmful to younger viewers.

If parents allow their children to use the net unsupervised thats up to them.

I would not allow my son unlimited access as hes only 7, i would use something like net nanny click me .

As for porn in the forum its against the rules and if i had a older child and had allowed them to use this forum and i found them on that page i would be fickin mad.

Whilst I'm fully aware of your concerns, I'm not aware of any porn available on this forum!

To prove a point though, if you go to the top of this page and type in the word "S*X" in the search option, hell, you'll be suprised what you come up with if you follow all the links "provided" by "Webuser".

Where do you draw the line?

Not sure what you mean by finding it maxping?

Again I say if the moderators wish to delete this thread that's ok by me.
I only supplied the correct link he/she was asking for.

The page/pages is not a porn site, but granted it has links to perhaps unsavoury sites, but also. it has the "Google" search bar as part of it's presentation which allows anyone, young or old to search for what ever they like, as do many friendly, family oriented sites.

So again I ask, where do you draw the line?

The World Wide Web is a most helpful, resourceful and yet harmful place full of links/sites which not all of of us wish our children to see.

Lets not fall out my friend, but try to learn that we both/all have to be vigilant and protect our children from the filth out there.

I apologise if I have offened you, or anyone else in supplying the correct link which was asked for.

I think I'm inclined to agree with Maxping. I know it's easy to get anything you like off the Web if you try hard enough but I don't think we should make it that easy through this forum. I also have some sympathy with Oracle who simply did what most of us do, provide a clickable link. In the circumstances I will edit out the actual URL from both postings but leave the thread open. There's only one thing left now - we haven't actually answered the original question. The page opens for me (and I assume Oracle and Maxping as well) so why can't Schumi open it?
