Screen Resolution
      #96162 - Sat Aug 07 2004 04:36 PM

What a day, I've just spent 6 hours removing crapware from my neice's lappy. After logging on to WebUser I only get it to fill two thirds of the page but all other sites are ok. Is this normal for WebUser/laptops ? I don't have the same problem on my PC. The screen resolution is 1024 X 768. I'm guessing I should just leave it but am open to advice. My own PC is set at 800 x 600. Thanks.

Sounds ok to us
If it was an older machine if it was asked to work at a higher resolution you'd have it "interlacing" (the graphic card would switch modes) and the text would be difficult to read
My monitor/card set up can run up to 1280x1024 but I have probs above 1024x768 so it rarely runs at that level unless switched by software over this number.
Currently I'm playing an online game that has to be played at 800x600 (16bit colour) so I have to manually switch back and forth
In order to get out of car, open door, get out, lock doors, and then close doors - car handbook

Webuser.co.uk is built for 800x600 resolution so it will only fill 2/3 of your screen. I have my favourites open to avoid a large white area.

My site is also built for 800x600 and will remain so until it's next site wide makeover.

Lots of sites are built for the width to be 100% rather than a fixed size and thats why you are seeing other sites at full screen width.

Hope that helps.
