Hi, I have a intel centrino lap top and would like to be able to connect to hot spots in hotels etc, could someone tell me how i go about this please, ie: do you have to change settings or will it just detect when a hot spot is present ?

Best thing to do is download an application that will do all the work for you - called "NetStumbler" (just google for it). It will search your surrounding area to find all wireless networks and give you valuable information to use for connection.
