I downloaded messenger 6.2 some time ago but everytime I connect to the net it tells my contacts I'm online which is not a problem but when they contact me the message pops up in the old messenger. Is there a way to remove the old one or assign messenger 6.2 when they contact me? Any help appreciated.
its impossible for that to happen! Messenger can only be signed in through one program even if it is the same machine!!! Messenger 6.2 has not changed in appearance since v6.0 came out so dont expect any noticeable differences.

This doesnt really answer my query. MSN 6.2 is very different from the standard MSN. 6.2 lets u put a pic on it etc. for a start! What Im saying is that without signing in to MSN but connecting to the net it alerts my contacts that I am online but when they contact me for the first time it alerts me to their message in the standard MSN not 6.2. Of course I can close this then go and sign into MSN 6.2 but Im hoping there's a way to stop that happening.
Windows Messenger tells me if any of my contacts are on-line and they know when I'm on-line too. Sometimes, I suddenly get a message from one of them popping up. Madeline. To err is human; to really foul things up you need a computer.
Have you got all of the Microsoft critical updates? Have you disabled windows messenger? Have you been getting a lot of popups? When I say popups I mean strangers saying things like "Have you got a webcam coz I am hot?"
...strangers saying things like "Have you got a webcam coz I am hot?"...
Stranger!?... No wonder I don't get an answer.
