Hi,
A friend and I have been developing a website based around Low Cost airline travel. I'd be most grateful if you people here could take a look and give your opinions, point out any problems you had with it and perhaps tell us what you would like to see.
The site is optimised around IE6 so anyone connecting using something else may experience problems using the map or flight pricing pages (which I appreciate is a problem straight off ;-))
Cheers, Alan

In my Favourites folder, I have quite a few "low cost airlines" websites, not only for my use, but for when I wish to assist others, so it was with interest that I entered flitesite. I admit that my first reaction was that maybe the homepage should have been contained within the screen, you know what they say, you only have one opportunity to make a first impression. However, setting aside the scrolling required to take it all in, after a brief look round, I came away quite impressed with the amount of information provided. In particular, it is quite useful to be able to clic on Europe for example, then to be able to see all low cost operators and with the link provided, go straight to the required site. Something I haven't seen before was the way you place the curser over your normal departure airport, and the technical side displays all routes, informative yes, novelty yes. In all, this site has as much information as one would want and probably more. I hope they are able to keep it up to date. I am fully aware that Stelios hits you in between the eyes with his direct "see it - book it - pay for it " site and long may he continue, but for me, I happen to like to be able to see just a little more before I book. Jobs well done.

This site is aesthetically pleasing and well co-ordinated throughout.
However, the side ways scrolling is immensely unuser friendly and the script failed to load the left column properly in Mozilla.
The extensive use of Flash may well be a barrier to users of slower machines and could benefit from an alternative option on an index entry page.
That said, it sure looks promising.

An excellent concept. Two principal BUTS: i) Where's Ryanair? I know site is underdevelopment but the self-professed cheapest of the cheap should figure in prototype, if only with "link under development" ii) To make this site really worthwhile (and I hasten to add I think it has the potential to do so!) it must be constantly maintained and kept upto date. That is a very intensive activity. I agree with other poster that the use of Flash settings is very distracting. I welcome the ambition to be fully inclusive i.e, going world-wide from the outset. Having visited Malaysia last year and seen just how cheap and accessible the then just launched Air Asia was, opened our eyes to "going it alone" , booking a long -haul to Kuala Lumpur and then taking the VERY cheap "air buses" to hitherto more inaccessible parts of such a wonderful country. I already have contact with a local travel agent who can fix us up with really exclusive property at ridiculously low local rates, so a site like this can really help the more adventurous and worldly-wise traveller to enjoy luxury holidays at bargain prices. The development of a cheap airline flight planner on the site would be a distinct advantage. Good luck and Bon Voyage guys!

I just wanted to thank you all for the comments you made about the site. We've taken your ideas/suggestions on board and are currently working on redeveloping the site. Oh - and we do have Ryanair on there. We're one of the few sites that are currently still able to pull prices from them. (Others such as openjet.com have been blocked).
Again, thanks very much for the comments
Cheers Alan
