hi all
i bought a well known magazine last week only to find it contains 3 virus on the cover disks.i use avast antivirus.which told me i got 3 virus on my computer.
xp pro.512 mem 128 geforce 4 ti 4600.80 gig.hdd+40.gig.cooldrive 4. blueyonder b/b

It doesn't say much for the magazine that nobody bothered to check. They say they scanned the files for viruses before duplication but the trojan is only apparent after installation on a PC. Clearly nobody at the magazine bothered to load the files to see if they worked. Their solution to the problem - don't install the software. It's a bit b....y late now!!

Hi Clive if you've got a virus that can't be accessed and it is residing in C:\System Volume Information The only way to rectify this is to Disable System Restore Perform a full anti-virus scan, Reboot and enable System Restore (same page)

I hope Microsoft check their SP2 CDs for malware before we get them! That mag you mention will probably lose a few readers now. I've never read it, but this sort of thing doesn't exactly inspire confidence in them.

i did do a full virus scan with disable system restore and it come up wit a virus called js classloader 5.
what do i do now

If Avg flagged it you should then move it to the virus vault if it can't be deleted. Then enable system restore.

D'oh. I ought to know that it was me that recommended it to you wasn't it ? Is there something similar in Avast ? I don't know.  Aaawww my memory went the same way as my picture.
