Hi Andy, You could try getting your web site added to other peoples link pages and swap links with them, also you can submit your site to search engines like google,yahoo,alltheweb etc you can do this for free. other places are www.dmoz.com to add your site in there and another link llisting place is www.addme.com both of which are Free, my advice though is set up a seperate e-mail address when using link listing places as you tend to get quite a lot of junk mail. Hope this helps.
Take Care Michael

Hi,
There are loads and loads of good website promotion sites out there, that can show you how to promote your site for little or no money. Here's a couple you might want to visit:
* http://www.apromotionguide.com * http://www.selfpromotion.com * http://www.howipromotemywebsite.com (my site!)
Promoting your site takes a lot of time, and patience.
If you're serious about your site, I would advise you to pay for hosting, register a domain name and get rid of the Geocities. (I think you'll have a better chance of ranking well on search engines with your own domain name.)
Again, only if you're serious about your site. (Go to http://www.supanames.co.uk and you can get a .co.uk domain and 1 years hosting for less than £30, I think!)
Anyway, hope that helps

I'm adding a word of caution about this. Right now there is a spam email going around offering reciprocal links to "quality relevant sites". They claim the other party is interested in linking to your site as it relates to their own topic. It's junk, I am still trying to figure out how local interest and tableware are connected? In short, avoid these emails as they only exist to dupe the unwary into confirming the mailbox is active for spammers, do your own research for suitable promotion, so you know the source is reliable.
Personally though, I never promote my domain. Why should I? Google has it, as do others, from their spiders, but in reality I started it up for myself, as an interesting diversion. Traffic is unimportant to me, if you visit and like that's kewl, if you don't, shrug it's no loss to me.
