How to put Videos from camcorder to PC and VCR to

Hi, I own a Sony Hi-8 camcorder, Can anyone tell me how i can connect this device to my laptop to save these videos as a movie to put on a VCD? or how i can connect the VCR to my laptop to do the same thing. I would like to know what software i should use and what cables? I'm not sure who to ask so i thought a message board would be a good idea. Thanks so much for your help to who ever replies. Hope to recieve some replies soon.

Hi Linda,

You might want to take a look at this post which dealt with video capture cards, and this which dealt with vCD & DVD burning.

Have a look then pop back with any questions it may have raised and I'm sure someone will be able to help you further.
