Sent Mail to a friends new E address in Turkey and it cannot get through because of "time out" at the Turkish end. It has now been something like 36hrs. is this common or is something being checked ?

Not sure what you mean by "Time Out" Sounds as though your contact has problems with his/her ISPs Server if the mail cannot be downloaded. I have no trouble e-mailing my relatives in Australia and the States.
