Hiya everyone,
For those on wanadoo, which I'm also on, I just wondered what service of BB are you on? Are you on the £17.99 or £27.99 a month? I'm on the £27.99 a month and have been since they were Freeserve and £27.99 was the only option.
I'm thinking on changing to the cheaper option but it says you can only have 2GB of download. Would that be ok for surfing, emails, photo's, music and gaming, which it says that it's ok for.
Is that the service you're on? It's a lot cheaper so seriously thinking on swapping over.
Talk to you all soon. Love, Becky xxxxxxxx

2 GB would be more than enough for me Becky but it really depends on what you do. If you are seriously into downloading music and videos then I suspect you may have a problem with that restriction from time to time and may have to curtail the activity a little. I understand its still 512kbps which is very good at that price compared with my own at £25 per month.
Joe.
PS I'm going to move this post to the Broadband thread where you may get more responses.

i am on the 512kb broadband,£17.99 package as of this wednesday gone,it is a 2gb download limit but for me thats far too much as i dont download a great deal anyway,at least not yet. what i would like to know though is this: does surfing take up much from the download limit and what exactly constitutes a download,is it music, video and software or does general surfing count too? also what would online gaming use?.i surf about an hour a day and maybe have a chat on messenger for about half an hour a day, some days differ but roughly thats what i use at the moment.

yes i read that greysts thanks but what that list shows is what you can do if you use all the services shown. what i wanted to know is what online gaming time could i have if i only surf for 1-2 hours a day instead of 6-8 as the list suggests. i dont have a lot of e-mails to send neither so could this help in keeping the downloads down. i`m just a novice at this so do forgive my ignorance.

Hi Snowy,
I have asked this question before on here when Wanadoo took over. I gave this forum a list like you have. The response was to change to £17.99, but I have decided not to change as this give me more rights as I have the old contract and if Wanadoo starts playing funny buggers I have a better chance to challenge them.
I hope this helps. :-)

Thanks for your replies. I've asked around and found out that only being able to receive 400 emails a month for the £17.99 a month one is not really a lot as I belong to lots of email groups so I would go over my limit within a week!
I'm still going to look around though coz £27.99 is too much money really and can't really afford it.
Hope you all have a great weekend. Love, Becky xxxxxxxx

the 2Gb limit i hope is fine for me as i used to spend around 200 + hours a month online with NTL dial up mainly just surfing and downloading a few music tracks a week , but BT only give 1Gb a month for £19.99
what i would like to know is why are so many isp's capping their BB services but their dial up was unmetered also why if you upgrade in any way you have to start a new 12 month contract
