best software for you is netobjects fusion 8 , it is abit expensive http://www.netobjects.co.uk/

you could sign up to http://www.oneandone.co.uk for a domain name and web hosting and they give you netobjects fusion 7.5 free(£3.50) so you get the sofware to build your site and the space on the web to host it under the domain you want.

no no no no.............

get MS FRONTPAGE, allthough it may be a bit expensive, its way better than dreamweaver mx or anything. You can do loads of DHTML effects without knowing any of the code

We've had this conversation before

Please could you just recommend the software instead of saying "no no no" to other peoples opinions, because everyones opinions are different.

My opinion and 99% of people on this forums opinion is that Dreamweaver is much better than Frontpage. Frontpage is expensive for what it is in my opinion and you can get better software much cheaper. Dreamweaver is expensive because its one of the best in the buisness and unlike Frontpage, doesn't produce Dirty code.

Fair enough thats your opinion, that its better, but it IS fact that Dreamweaver is better than Frontpage

I'd agreed with Owen.

MS FrontPage is fine for a beginner, but it produces horrible Microsoft specific code, leaves lots of useless tags in the code and it generally poor when it comes to web standards.

Dreamweaver offers far better code, far better compatibility, more features and a whole lot more besides.

Having said that, I hand code, so I use HTML-Kit.

For a free WYSIWYG editor, try downloading the full Mozilla package from http://www.mozilla.org which includes Composer.

frontpage is too much hassle, do some research on google and you will find that overall, dreamweaver is the most powerful but netobjects is the most user freinldly for a complete novice and frontpage is looked down upon because of the crap codes it produces and needs frontpage extensions on your host for certain aspects.

you can download a trial of dreamweaver, frontpage and fusion and decide for yourself anyway.
