I feel quite embarrassed because I work in Internet support, but this one has me stumped. The first Internet explorer window I open always opens as maximized, but when I click on a link the window link pops up in the taskbar but I have to right click it and select maximize. If I left click it, it seems to shoot up into the top left hand corner of the screen but then disappears. I have selected properties and set the window to run as maximized, but it still wont work. I'm sure it's something quite simple, but for the life of me, cannot fix. HELP !

Try this,
To open Internet Explorer in a maximised window
For the initial window:
Right click on the Internet Explorer icon on your taskbar and click Properties In the Run field, choose the maximized option. Click Apply then ok.
To maximize new windows:
In the existing Internet Explorer Window,
Right click on a link and click open in New Window After you have opened the new window, close the original (and any other IE windows except the new one). Resize the new window (drag the edges) to the largest possible size, then close that window. Now reload IE and try opening a new window
or you can use a program called Autosizer

Thanks, I read your reply to a previous poster and tried both the things you said but to no avail. Also I've discovered that when I restore down any open window they disappear too. hmmmm

WOOT ! Fixed it. The window was sized down to about 1 pixel on the desktop. When I scrolled over it, it allowed me to resize it back up. As I said, a very strange one, but my reputation is intact. Phew. LOL !
