this may be of interest to people who are having problems with the speed touch 330 ADSL modem
if on starting your PC it freezes the speed touch website HERE has a driver for the problem, that they know about, it would have been nice if this driver was on the installation disc .
you need to unzip the file to get the driver, i used the repair feature in the software and this seems to have worked for me (well this is the first time i haven't had to unplug the usb lead before starting the PC, also first try after downloading the driver)
P.S i am only assuming it is athlon processors it may happen with Pentium as well i don't know

This problem is usually due to a combination of the Speedtouch modem and a VIA based chipset (rather than Athlon proccies). I ran a Speedtouch fine on my old Athlon but a mate of mine had the same problem you describe and the upgrade solved the problem.
I agree though, why don't Thomson include the upgrade driver with the installation CD?
