Digital pics to CD-R
      #6529 - Wed Aug 20 2003 12:54 PM

Does anyone have any advice please. I have Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4 on my PC (it came with the OS which is windows ME). Now i can and have done, put pictures from my digital camera on to a cd which can be viewed on my pc. What i need is a programme that will put my pictures onto cd as a (for instance) slideshow, which can then be played on a dvd player. I have tried to upgrade via the web, but it seems that all the links to Adaptec are a dead end. Even the phone number they give doesn't work. Is there a free programme somehwere that does this for me, or can i get the upgrade somewhere. Thanks in Advance. Steveh

Adaptec were taken over by Roxio a couple of years ago. click here

You don't need to use a DVD player to view them. On your hard disk customise the folder using View, Customise and the folder will look like "My Pictures" folder and enable you to do a slideshow.

Thanks BurrWalnut. I can already view them on my PC, but i want to be able to view them on a dvd player, also to let friends (who do not have pc's) see them on theirs too.

Steveh

Sorry about that, I misread your post thinking they were to be viewed on another PC.

Couldn't find completely software I tried a trial version of Ulead Picture Show for creating slide shows with music of my digital pics. It was OK but following reviews in Web User, I decided on Jasc Paint Shop Photo Album4, primarily because not only does it create picture CDs with sound, its a powerful organising and indexing tool for people like me who have their pics all over my HD. Very easy t8o use and cost about £40.

Ulead Video Studio 7 is a good program for creating a slideshow with audio, then you'll have to convert this to VCD format before playing on your DVD. I think Nero is capable of this, but Roxio, that I can't answer.

Hi Steve

I used to use Easy CD Creator Platinum and made heaps of slide shows that would work on the DVD player. I am really sorry as i cannot remember if the normal version had it but the Platinum does. I purchased the original (yes I paid for it) but must admit I got the Platinum form Kazaa. OOOOOPPPPS
