Easyiest way round this is to repair Internet Explorer.

Go to Control Panel and click Add/Remove Programs. Highlight Internet Explorer and click the Add/Remove button. You'll be presented with several options, one of which is to repair. Select Repair and follow the on screen instructions.

Let us know how you get on please.

This option to Repair is not available on Win 98SE. If I click on Add/Remove it asks me do I want to revert to previous version. How do I repair using Win 98SE but since I have had so many problems since "upgrading" to IE6 perhaps reverting to previous version might not be a bad idea. What does anyone think?

Well I'm on Windows 98se with IE6 and the option to repair is there. You can remove, repair or restore a previous version.

Now I'm even more confused! According to link provrded by Oracle Repair Tool is NOT an option with 98SE yet Jonny555 says his 98SE has it. As Puta would say, Hmmmm.....

Try this
go to start | run

copy in the following:

rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE5Maintenance "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Setup\SETUP.EXE" /g "C:\WINDOWS\IE Uninstall Log.Txt"

Done that. When box came up to Add Component or Repair IE I checked Repair. Then clicked on Yes for Repair. Then following Error Message came up.
"Internet Explorer 6 could not be repaired. Please run Setup again to renstall all components."
Did that but same thing happened. Tried checking Add Component but that didn't work either. Error message details said:
"IE6 cannot be repaired due to the following errors:
Version 5.50.4134.600 of file ADVPACK.DLL exists, but the version needs to be greater than 6.0.2800.1100."
What next?

Same thing happened when I tried Repair, same Error Message, but it did offer another option Restore the previous Windows Configuration. When this time I clicked on Add a component it went to Initialising IE. I didn't pursue that uption.

Eeerm, strange that. All I can think of is that Microsoft included it to start with and then stopped.

I lost IE from Add/Remove ages ago, since when I've had to use a command something like the one Puta gives in this thread whenever I want to repair it.
