How are you trying to remove the toolbar?
Here are the removal instructions from Ask Toolbar:
How do I uninstall the Toolbar?
Windows XP:
1. Close all open Web browsers 2. From the "Start" menu in Windows, select "Control Panel" 3. Select "Add/Remove Programs" 4. Select the program with the Ask logo and the text "Ask Toolbar" (or our partner’s brand for a custom Toolbar) 5. Click "Change/Remove"
Windows Vista:
1. Close all open Web browsers 2. From the "Start" menu in Windows, select "Control Panel" 3. Under the "Programs" icon, select "Uninstall a program" 4. Select the program with the Ask logo and the text "Ask Toolbar" (or our partner’s brand for a custom Toolbar) 5. Click "Uninstall" and then "Continue" to remove the Toolbar
If you reopen your Web browser and still see the Toolbar, you may need to restart your computer for the uninstall process to be completed.

fusion, thanks for your reply, the problem is that "ask toolbar" dose not show in control panal add and remove, the only place it can be found is in the registry, thats why im trying to get rid of it with "regseeker".(which is failing to do so also). what im trying to do is install another program that is "ask related" namley "freecorder",but its telling me that it cannot install because another "ask toolbar" is installed, so you see my problem. any other suggestions very welcome
