That's unseemingly soon after the last one, they have have spotted something fairly troublesome.

I thought that too, but I've no idea what it might be. The release notes said it fixed 'several stability issues', whatever they were!
I did find v3.5.4 a bit slow, but it's back to normal with v3.5.5.
