Monitor Problem : display off centre
      #441490 - Thu Nov 05 2009 03:56 PM

I recently had an old computer fixed in the hope of using it as a second machine, but when I plug in the monitor used previously it is off centre

The moniitor is a Sampo AlphaScan 719 if that helps.

When I put the computer on, I can see the start button (bottom left) but no clock (bottom right)

I tried altering the screen resolution without success. I even tried reducing the screen display width using the monitor buttons, again without any luck.

I was thinking maybe the engineer altered the settings in the PC when checking it, as he would have been using a different monitor.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am looking into getting a flat screen monitor, but in the meantime, if this screen can work for a while, that would be great. I'm just checking compatability of an old graphics card with modern day flat screen monitors (Graphics card is a GeForce 4 MX440)
