external hardrive issues please help!
      #441423 - Wed Nov 04 2009 01:07 AM

Hi all,

Please help me with an issue I am having. I have an external hardrive that is playing up, just recently a folder on this drive became corrupt and is causing problems with the entire contents of the drive.

The corrupt file was only small and only contained PDF's and some microsoft office doc's that cam e from a reliable source, this file has since becoming corrupt renamed itself and I cant delete it, open it or do anything with it.

This problem is causing issues with the external hardrive when opening and selecting other files and folders, it takes me ages to get the contents to load up for me to view, some of the other folders that I have on there simply wont open and I get the message that the e: drive isnt formatted yet do you want to carry this out now? I have tried several things like using 'unlocker' etc to delete this folder but nothing has worked so far.

I am not bothered if I lose the folder containing the corrupt stuff but I do have many other important files etc that I really cant lose.

I am running XP fyi

please help me get this problem sorted!
