hi,i was given an old pc with 8gb hardrive,i used "killdisk" to wipe the drive, now when i tried to install windows xp, i get the message "no operating system on the hardrive".
i realize i wiped the drive, but i though all i had to do was put the xp disk into the drive and it would load ,please explain what i did wrong,( i did try to alter the boot order in the bios) to try to boot from the cd.
any help appreciated thanks

It seems that the PC is still trying to boot from the hard drive which now has no operating system on it. Check again that the Boot Device sequence in the BIOS is set so that the CD drive comes before the hard drive.
