Hi all thanks for looking. Due to bad housekeeping, bone idleness and years of neglect my music collection is in a bit of a mess.
I have “My Music” and “My Photos” stored on a second drive, local disc (D). I believe that C drive was split and created D, not sure why, it was done a long time ago. Over the years I have used a few different media players including realplayer, vlc and wmp. Every time I have installed a new media player they always try to make themselves the main program for opening your media files, so some have different icons beside the file name like VLC or WMP.
VCL and WMP are the only two media players I have now, and I would like to make WMP my main player.
When I check my WMP library it does not show all the songs in “My Music” folder. It shows all the mp3 files but not M4A files. I also have ACC files. I’m not sure how I ended up with M4A files as when I saved all my old music cd’s I saved them as mp3s.
Is there a program that can check “MY Music” folder and convert them all to mp3? I would rather not do this manually as I have 1,455 folders and 13,364 files!
Once I have all the files as mp3’s dose wmp have the facility to update its library without duplicating files already in it. Also is it advisable to leave all my music in the “My Music” folder which is on the D drive.
Hope all the above makes sense, and thanks for reading this far. Any help is much appreciated.
Regards Jeff
