Hi there
I went to do my regular virus scan yesterday and when I opened my AVG 8.5 software I noticed a notification tab at the bottom advising AVG 9.0 was available for download. Naturally, as I wanted to stay up to date, I clicked the link and went to the download page.
The download page had two options as shown here AVG 9.0 download :
As I didnt know which one to download I downloaded both. When running the first one the installation process got so far through then came up with a screen saying AVG 9.0 would cause a conflict with Zone Alarm firewall, which is also installed on my pc and it recommended me to remove Zone Alarm.
At this point I stopped the AVG upgrade as I dont want to remove the Zone Alarm firewall from my PC. If I did decide to go ahead with the AVG upgrade would it cause problems in both programs? I have used both AVG and Zone Alarm together for many years now and this is the first time Ive been told of a conflict.
Any suggestions and / or comments welcome.

You should be able to get your download from the link you provided in your post BUT you should click on the "Recommended" instead of downloading both. See here. You should then click on the download button for AVG Free Edition 9.0(don't click the Premium upgrade) which would take you to CNET and download from there(868.98K).
With regards to warning during installation about ZoneAlarm and the advise to uninstall ZoneAlarm...just IGNORE that warning & advise...that's what I did...because I found this on the AVG forum. And by the way, I also disabled the LinkScanner after installation because I also experienced the sluggish surfing after the upgrade. Instruction found here.
