We all know the Ebay Auctions is the place to go to buy and sell but has anyone ever tried eBid Online Auctions and if so are they any good?

A while ago I signed up for the eBid offer that was about £40 and no fees for life, but about that time I found traffic to eBid was dire and getting worse.
I think the query has been asked before and for a Buy Now (where you set a price) it is worth a punt, but there were just not the visitor numbers to get a good auction sale. It's worth watching a few to see how they do.
At one point eBid was providing between 1% and 5% of our business, but is virtually zero now. The biggest issue is non payers. For every three sales one would not pay. They simply do not seem to have the clout eBay has (in another post I have detailed how eBay now only give buyers four days to pay before a seller can take action).
For a private seller it might be worth a go. We're currently trying hard to develop our own site to bring in an income stream with lower fees.
If selling books, Cds etc you could try Amazon. We had some good sales on there but if you think buyers on eBay can be strange, Amazon takes the biscuit. I recall one WebUser poster saying they had sold some CDs on Amazon for a couple of quid - they still had the £9.99 stickers on from when they were new. The buyer left low feedback as they thought they had been overcharged - they assumed they had paid the £9.99!
