Hello, I was searching for a particular trance mix of a song, and I foolishly clicked on a link that had what i'm guessing to be malware or a virus. In the past two days I have done everything I've known to do. Run spybot, run AVG, run Panda Security, yet even still, after clearing out everything they could find, if i type a search in on google and click a link, like say to gamefaqs.com I will be redirected to some other site that has nothing to do with what I clicked on. (Windows XP home)
here is the Hijack this file: (thanks in advance for your help!)

Welcome to the Webuser forum.
Please download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.
**Note: In the event you already have Combofix, this is a new version that I need you to download. It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**
- Please, never rename Combofix unless instructed.
- Close any open browsers.
- Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
- Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
- Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
- Close any open browsers.
- WARNING: Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet as soon as it starts
- Please do not attempt to re-connect your machine back to the Internet until Combofix has completely finished.
- If there is no internet connection after running Combofix, then restart your computer to restore back your connection.
Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts. When finished, it will produce a report for you. Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review.
**Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall**
-------------------- IF I HAVE SAVED YOU MONEY, PLEASE CONSIDER GIVING A DONATION TO HELP IN MY FIGHT AGAINST MALWARE.
When the only tool you own is a hammer, every problem begins to look like a nail.

Hey, sorry for the delayed response. I was at work all day. I did everything you asked and I turned off everything to my knowledge, all of my antivirus, and malware programs. Here are both logs for you.

has the redirections stopped ?
if not :-
Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here.
Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
- Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
- If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
- Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
- The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
- When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
- Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
- When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
- The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
- Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HJT log.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

Hello, sorry again for the late response, my account was banned for spamming, I guess because the post was so long, but I emailed help support and I was unbanned.
Yes, the re directions have stopped, I haven't been redirected at all since I ran everything you asked. (thank you very, very much.) The only thing I notice now is my start up takes quite awhile. And what I mean is, everything is normal in the amount of loading time, before it gets to the windows welcome screen, where it loads my profile and says please wait, then after I type in my password and hit enter it takes longer then before this incident, to actually load into my desktop.
I have defrag'd but I was just wondering if something else might be left or if you have any ideas on the subject, but thank you again very much for your help!

we have a bit of final cleaning up to do, then let me know if the startup is still slow.
combofix cleanup.
Time for some housekeeping
- Click START then RUN
- Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK
When shown the disclaimer, Select "2"
The above procedure will:
- Delete the following:
- ComboFix and its associated files and folders.
- VundoFix backups, if present
- The C:\Deckard folder, if present
- The C:_OtMoveIt folder, if present
Reset the clock settings. Hide file extensions, if required. Hide System/Hidden files, if required. Reset System Restore.
Then :-
Download and scan with CCleaner - CCleaner installs the Yahoo Toolbar as an option which IS checkmarked by default during the installation.
IF you do NOT want it, REMOVE the checkmark when provided with the option OR download the toolbar-free or Slim versions instead of the Standard Build.
- Before first use, select Options > Advanced and UNCHECK "Only delete files in Windows Temp folder older than 48 hours"
Then select "Cookies" Move any cookies you wish to retain, e.g. login cookies, in the left-hand window to the right-hand window by highlighting them and clicking the right arrow in the centre.
- Then select the items you wish to clean up.
In the Windows Tab:
• Clean all entries in the "Internet Explorer" section. • Clean all the entries in the "Windows Explorer" section. • Clean all entries in the "System" section. • Clean all entries in the "Advanced" section. • Clean any others that you choose.
In the Applications Tab:
• Clean all entries in the Mozilla Firefox Section. • Clean all in the Opera section if you use it. • Clean Sun Java in the Internet Section. • Clean any others that you choose.
- Click the "Run Cleaner" button.
- A pop up box will appear advising this process will permanently delete files from your system.
- Click "OK" and it will scan and clean your system.
- Click "exit" when done.
then DEFRAG your C:\ drive.
to help speed up your system.
then let us know how the computer is running.
HOW DID I GET INFECTED
