This past couple of weeks, when exiting Microsoft Works Word Processor data gets saved, the interface disappears from the screen but the program no longer terminates so that it's still resident in memory (task manager shows that - I only found this out because another program I'm using is waiting for it to finish). Open another document and another copy of the program starts up, and that too persists so that the number of copies remaining in memory forever increases.
This only seems to happen with this program, not with any other - including those within the Microsoft Works group - and it used to be ok until recently.
Is this happening to other people? or can anyone suggest what I could do to fix it (can't find any relevant preferences within the program)?
Thanks in advance.

I've just checked and my copy of the Works Word Processor closes cleanly. You could try either Uninstalling/Reinstalling Works or Reinstalling over the top of the current installation to see if that fixes the problem.

I can't get the setup.exe to run from the MsWorks CD-ROM (Windows Installer displays a pop-up saying that it is ready for installation but suddenly terminates) so I've taken the easy way out by using OpenOffice instead to get around the particular situation for which this has caused a problem.
Will still keep this problem in the back of my mind as something to be sorted out.
