I have had windows media player on my laptop (Vista) for some time, but recently when I try to burn some songs in the library onto a CD it does not want to know. When I put a blank CD into the laptop it will acknowledge that there is a CD in there and how much space is left, but when I add the songs it does not respond and the `start burning` tab does not work. I have tried system restore but does not solve the problem, and I have tried to reinstall the programme but I cannot find the version I have online to download (11.0.6002-18065) any version before that will refuse to repair or install. Failing that if there is no answer to this problem, does anyone know a good free program that I can use to burn my songs onto a CD?

How are you adding the songs? Are you doing it like this:
1. Insert a blank CD into the disk drive.
2. Open Windows Media Player, and click the Burn tab.
3. Drag and drop items from your library into the Burn List on the right.
4. When your list is complete, click Start Burn.

Yes that is how I usually do it , but lately when I drag the song from the library into the burn list it will not acknowledge the song put into it, and acting like the disk is still empty.
