Problems with WINDOWS Live Messenger

Every time my PC starts up I get this message:

The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\SensApi.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette...

And since that happened I cant access Windows Live Messenger

Any thoughts or pointers as to what has caused this.
