I always welcome tips that help protect my PC surfing.
Here's one that was new to me:
If I enter the Google Safe Browsing Diagnostic Tool URL into my browser address bar and follow it with my "suspicious" URL Google will return a report with security information about that site.
http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site= (then the URL of the site I wish to check).
It takes a second longer, but better safe than sorry!

At the end of the URL type in www.anything and it tells you the site isn't suspicious. I'm a bit sceptical as to its value if it gives a good report on a totally invalid address, but perhaps it would identify a genuinely malicious site.
