Since upgrading to Firefox 3.5.3 I seem to get a lot of error messages reading 'Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by recently opened web page'
I've just got the message when visiting Speedtest.net. Also, on the same site there is a link to Pingtest.net. However, when I click on it I am chucked out of Firefox.
I never had this problem with the earlier versions of Firefox.
Thinking it might be something to do with my Firefox extensions I've reduced them down to just Adblock Plus, British English Dictionary, IE Tab and McAfee Site advisor. However, the problem persists.
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Some possibilities:
Does it still happen if you run Firefox in its Safe Mode?
It could be a bug.
Clear your cache. Firefox> Preferences> Advanced> Network, Clear Now button.
This can be a problem with saving the file sessionstore.js in the Profile Folder Delete the file sessionstore.js and any existing files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js .
Does this thread help?
I got this stuff from the Firefox forums. It might be worth a visit there if the problem persists. They allow guest/anonymous posting on their Support forum, so you don't need to register to ask a question if you don't want to.

Thank for the advice Madeline. I am off on holiday for a few days tomorrow so I'll give it a go when I get back. Strange though; the problem only happens since I upgraded to the latest version of FF and I am doing nothing different to what I have always done.

I hope you have a good holiday! I'll be interested to know how you get on with Firefox when you get back.

I've been using Firefox happily all this while until this recent version. It was very slow and hanged or crashed especially using facebook on it. So i'm using Flock for every browsing including facebook. Its best browser for social networking. It is still from mozilla... JoeyH

Madeline As you suggested I deleted the .js files. I also downloaded FF again. Fingers crossed I've not had any problems for the past 3 days. Thank you for your help. I've bookmarked the FF forums for future reference.
The wife and I retuned home early from our holiday at Warners' Gunton Hall resort, Lowestoft. The burnt toast and over/under cooked luke warm food was not to our liking. Neither was the dining room where guests were literally packed in like sardines.

I'm glad to hear you got your Firefox problem sorted ad I hope that's still the case.
I'm sorry that you and your wife had such a disappointing holiday though; it doesn't sound at all satisfactory.
