a-squared Free 4.5
      #440249 - Fri Oct 16 2009 11:43 AM

I used to use this programme a few years ago, and decided to give it a go again.
I scanned, it found 2 trojans and a few bits of ad-ware.
I deleted them, they came back, and back, and back - I wiped my HDD and tried a new scan and it found
adware.win32.adon!A"
Trojan.atraps!IK
trace.directory.IamBigBrother!A2

(Bearing in mind this was a complete wipe of the HDD and a complete reinstall of my OS-xp-)

No other scanner found these- Avast- MBAM - SUPERanti-spyware- Spybot S&D Ad-Aware. (All free versions)

Now is it A-squared that is wrong/creating false positives or are the other programmes all missing these threats?

I'm stumped, any thoughts to help me clear this up would be appreciated.

Thank's

I stopped using A-squared years ago because of the amount of false positives.
i would ignore them, if MBAM - SUPERanti-spyware- Spybot S&D Ad-Aware aren't finding them, they aren't there.

You're right bricat. I still use a-squared Free sometimes as a scanner, but because of their large number of false positives I use Jotti quite a lot too!
