setting hotmail as default in windows7

hi. how do i get hotmail set as my default in windows7, i have windows live but prefere hotmail,in xp it was easy to change but w7 is different. thanks

I don’t know if you know it, but Hotmail accounts can be incorporated into Windows Live Mail, alongside other types, e.g. POP3 accounts.

However, I would have thought if you haven’t set up WLM, Hotmail should be the default. If that’s not the case, what is wrong with a link to Hotmail on the Desktop.

If none of the above works or is simply not applicable, try changing this registry key but make a note of its previous value just in case it misbehaves. Click the Windows Orb (Start), type regedit, press Enter and navigate to registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail. In the right pane Double-click Default and type Windows Live Hotmail as the value data.
