Increasingly large numbers of malware infections, such as the Conficker worm, are propagating via infected usb drives. They infect every computer the drive is used on. Panda software have released a free vaccine which protects both Pc and usb drive.The Pc is protected by disabling the autorun feature for cd/dvd drives and other removable media. (Although you can do this manually yourself) More importantly, it provides a feature which stops malicious code from writing to or modifying the autorun.inf file on usb drives which is usually how a worm infects the drive and spreads from pc to pc.
