Graphics Card Help
      #439236 - Mon Sep 28 2009 09:05 PM

Hi

Looking for a bit of advice on a new graphics card for my desktop PC as its a minefield out there my current PC set up is as follows

Windows 7 OS
Asrock 775i65 G MOBO
2GB RAM
CPU Type DualCore Intel Pentium D 915, 2800 MHz (14 x 200) Processor
PSU not so good 380W
i have 2 spare PCI slots and a 8 AGPx8 so slightly inclined to go AGP but budget is around £50.

I need it to run Autocad, Revit 2010 and some games using the onboard just now and its not up to scratch.

my thoughts are 512MB card but this probably doesnt mean that it will be any good

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as i aint got a clue !!!!!!

Go to http://tinyurl.com/Gsgus and you can get a decent branded Card for about 45 pounds(Including VAT) from www.Dabs.com ASUS RADEON HD 3650 (512 MB) AGP
Quote:

Ignite your imagination with the technology that makes distant worlds erupt with vibrant textures rendered in high-definition clarity a reality. The Sapphire HD3650 is Microsoft Vista compatible with awesome power of 120 stream processing units, accelerates next generation DirectX 10 games while remaining best in its price vs. performance class. Support for Shader Model 4 boost the level of realism provided by the HD3650 to new heights and the available on board memory DDR / GDDR ensures a smooth frame rate in all of today's hot titles and applications. Enhance the way you play not the amount you pay

And you will Need a New PSU to Power it. I Have found you a 520 Watt "Own Brand" Unit at Aria Computers Manchester Price elsewhere is £35 pounds
Can you afford that? ...How about £14.21? (Has No Power lead ) But Aria sell them separately at about £2 ) Only other PSU they list with the same wattage is 64 Pounds
