Transfer website
      #438988 - Thu Sep 24 2009 04:04 PM

Set up my website on my old computer which I have now replaced and discarded.. I saved the whole setup to disk, but can't figure out how to transfer it on to my new machine. My website is still online, but I am not in a position to edit it. What do I do now? Thanks

If you have the site on disk (and I assume it's an HTML only site, as opposed to a dynamic database driven affair (mySQL/ASP/PHP, etc.)) then it's simply a matter of dragging and dropping the folder/files from the disk to a suitable location on your new machine, a folder in My Documents/Documents, etc.

The more time consuming alternative would be to download the entire site from your hosting server via an FTP client toa similar location on your PC.
